about the role

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Production Training Specialist - Competency Assurance to join the Operations team.

Reporting to the Training and Development Lead, this permanent role will be based in Chevron's new building at One The Esplanade with occasional site visits to Barrow Island and Onslow.


The role will be responsible in reviewing and monitoring production training and competency status for each asset as well as providing support to On-shift Assessors.


In this role, you will be the point of contact for Production Engineers, provide SME support and input to the Production Training and Competency Framework Project, and to the trainee, apprentice & women employment pathway programs.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor the quality of competency assessment execution activities, conduct assessment validation sessions, ensuring competency standards are consistently being met
  • Facilitate Permit to Work, Isolation of Hazardous Energy, Operator Craft and Interlock training
  • Represent Chevron on the industry working groups (e.g. Verisafe, Safer Together)
  • Identify, develop, and action operational excellence process improvement and simplification opportunities

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • Operations experience working within Production
  • The Cert IV Training and Assessment Skill set, or be willing to obtain this certification
  • Experience in project management
  • Engaging and confident facilitation skills to support the delivery of group ppl) training
