An exciting opportunity exists for a
Health and Security Assistant to join the
HASA Department at
Wollongong Hospital.

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven's major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500.

The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

The Health & Security Officer (Cleaner) primary purpose is to provide a clean, hygienic and safe environment for patients/clients, visitors and staff in specified areas.

The position will also have a responsibility to ensure the protection, security and safety of all staff, patients and visitors.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).

Selection Criteria:

Hold a current Class 1A NSW Security Licence, current First Aid Certificate and a current valid Class C Driver's Licence.
Demonstrated experience in cleaning practices and systems.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand essential documentation including safe work practices and infection control procedures.
Demonstrated experience in effectively and safely managing confrontation and aggression.
Demonstrated experience in providing services with a strong responsive customer service focus.
Demonstrated experience in communicating appropriately and effectively in a wide range of complex situations.
Demonstrated basic computer skills.
