At present we are working on a digital wallet where people can store their licences, certificates and other government-issued identity and accreditation documents.

About the role

The role will work with senior stakeholders across the business to develop detailed budgets and associated reporting, work with the Department of Government Services corporate finance team to load budgets into the governance committees on budget finance system, and assist with the preparing of briefs for senior executives.


Key responsibilities

  • Prepare a budget template and associated instructions for the business to use to develop detailed annual budgets.
  • Support senior stakeholders to develop detailed annual budgets through proactive stakeholder engagement.
  • Perform a reconciliation of the bid with the historical business data, and align it to meet the needs of each group.
  • Consolidate the Service Victoria budget and assist the Manager Finance to prepare budget briefs for senior executives and governance committees to enable budget decision making.
  • Proactively work with the Department of Government Services corporate finance team to load the approved Service Victoria budget into the finance system.
  • Working closely with the finance team and support with the yearend activities.

Finance Skills

  • Demonstrated experience preparing budgets,developing budget templates and instructions.
  • The ability to consolidate budgets, analyse and summarise key information. Stakeholder Management
  • Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses this understanding to build mutually beneficial partnerships
- negotiates with and influences diverse stakeholder groups on complex issues in order to secure long-term gains for the area and/ or stakeholders.


Communication:


  • Demonstrated communication skills essential for liaison with stakeholders and suppliers, to influence compliance and engagement necessary to strengthening relationships

Initiative and accountability:


  • Proactive and selfstarting; Seizes opportunities and acts upon them; Takes responsibility for own actions; seeks out opportunities to improve systems and processes. Desired Experience/Qualifications
  • Specialist qualification: finance or accounting degree and/or professional qualification such as CA or CPA is highly desirable.
