Description

An exceptional opportunity exists for a passionate and driven nursing leader to manage Mental Health Services and work as a Service Manager at a private hospital in Sydney.

It is a full-time, permanent position.


ABOUT THE ROLE


As the Service Manager, you will work in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Medical Services, and the Clinical Director of Mental Health.


Your duties will include:

  • Responsibility for the delivery of critical clinical and operational performance indicators, including patient safety, patient experience, quality, staff wellbeing, budget, and labour hours management;
  • Providing operational support to the Nursing Unit Managers (NUMs), Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNC), After Hours Nurse Managers, and other nursing leads;
  • Reporting to the Deputy Director of Nursing, you will be well supported and developed by the Director of Nursing, Senior Nursing team, Senior Medical Staff, and the broader leadership team;
  • You will lead by example and inspire your team to develop personcentered ways of working;

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Registration with AHPRA;
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent;
  • Post Graduate qualification in nursing leadership and management at a degree level or higher or an equivalent level of experience;
  • At least 5 years experience in an acute healthcare facility in a management role;
  • Highly developed leadership skills that demonstrate a positive and professional approach;
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and teambuilding inclusive of coaching and mentoring skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment and provision of exceptional customer service;
  • Highlydeveloped negotiation, problemsolving, prioritization, and conflictresolution skills;
  • Reflective practice and selfawareness;
  • Selfmotivated demonstrate initiative;
  • Ability to achieve results through consultation, advice, and facilitation;
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of people, both internal and external to the facility;
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and collaboratively influence others in undertaking further training and development;
  • Experience working in the private health system (desirable);

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Sydney, provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients.

The hospital features 488 beds, a 50-bed Emergency Department, a 20-bed general cardiothoracic ICU, 14 state-of-the-art theatres including cardiac catheter labs, a world-class education center, a doctor's lounge, excellent staff facilities, a café, and car parking.

The entire mental health service provides 61 beds across 4 specialised wards.
