The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team helps their clients in meet their payroll, reporting and compliance obligations within the Australia.


The team assists many global and locally based businesses in all aspects of the traditional "back" office, often collaboratively with other KPMG teams local and international.


Your Opportunity
BPO is looking for an advisor to assist the team in meeting the demands of our expanding client base.

From payroll preparation and all aspects of bookkeeping, to tax compliance, this role is in a client facing position with plenty of opportunities to expand your technical knowledge of tax and accounting, and experience working in a multinational accounting firm.

You will be exposed to clients from many industries. A mix of global and local clients providing variety and complexity to keep you motivated and engaged.


This role requires a generalist skillset meaning that as part of the role you will initially have a broad focus, meaning you do not need specific industry or functional expertise to be successful.

This can mean building on previous knowledge or developing unique experience in an area that is new.

The focus will be on delivering high quality services for our clients, meeting deadlines and maintaining productive client relationships that allow you to build strong professional networks over time.


Your tasks will include:

  • All aspects of payroll related work for various clients, including the preparation of periodic payroll calculations, STP reporting, superannuation, payroll tax lodgements and WorkCover compliance.
  • Annual payroll reconciliations, preparation of PAYG payment summaries, payroll tax annual reconciliations and WorkCover annual declarations.
  • All aspects of bookkeeping including monthly transaction processing, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Preparation of monthly management reporting.
  • Preparation of instalment and business activity statements.
  • Other adhoc back office requirements as requested by clients.

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include:


  • Excellent knowledge of Xero, preferably with Xero certification;
  • Strong bookkeeping experience;
  • Strong knowledge of payroll preparation and employer obligations;
  • Experience in tax compliance (BAS and IAS preparation) preferred, but not a requirement;
  • The ability to work with numerous clients with different requirements;
  • The ability to also work autonomously in a position of responsibility with own portfolio of clients;
  • Ability to research issues that may arise, in order to respond to unique client queries;
