About the role:


  • Reporting to the General Manager
  • Maintain a high level of communication with operational personnel (and where relevant, client personnel to understand current and future manning requirements.
  • Manage, and actively participate in the recruitment and onboarding process, including overseas recruitment.
  • Provide advice and support to management on all employment and industrial relations matters.
  • Manage employee relations/industrial relations with employees and union groups.
  • Manage all Workers Compensation claims
  • Oversee the payroll function
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant awards or enterprise agreements that apply.
  • Review and develop policy and procedures to meet Company requirements and to ensure compliance with evolving legal requirements.

What you will need:


  • Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership to the development and implementation of strategies.

Experience in the mining industry is preferable:

  • Good understanding of applicable legislation, specifically the FWA, NES, relevant awards and associated legislative compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience and skills in negotiation and conflict resolution with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Highly developed computer literacy skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing policy recommendations and intervention plans based on research evidence.
  • High level problem solving skills and research/analytical ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a team during periods of organisational change.
  • Commitment to teamwork and the maintenance of a supportive work environment.
  • Degree in Human Resource Management / Industrial Relations or Psychology.
  • Willing to travel to remote sites
