About the company:
The company we are working with are present in over 100 countries, offering global independent assurance and risk management services.
They are looking to hire a sustainability assessor to join their Sydney team and help the company move forward with their sustainability initiatives.
Position Overview- Spearheading sustainability initiatives across diverse industry sectors, encompassing Oil and Gas, steel, aluminum, and the cement industry.
- Evaluating Sustainability/Integrated reports using various reporting frameworks like GRI, SASB, UNGC, DJSI/S&P, TCFD, CDP, and regional regulations.
- Conducting assessments/verifications of client sustainability indicators, covering the environment (Scope 1, 2, and Scope 3 emissions), social aspects, and governance indicators.
- Performing Assurance activities under the Clean Energy Regulator NGER and ERF mechanisms as a Category 2 Lead Auditor, either at the outset or following qualification.
- Reviewing and evaluating client's net Zero Targets or Sciencebased Targets (SBTi), Carbon footprint, Product carbon footprint, and Life cycle analysis.
- Demonstrating understanding and proficiency in Product Carbon footprint, LCA Studies, and Product ecolabeling (preferred).
- Offering support for technocommercial proposals, bidding, and maintaining commercial awareness.
- Leading initiatives to spot emerging opportunities in the sustainability space, fostering business growth across emerging areas and establishing local industry connections.
- Undertaking business development activities and market intelligence.
- Possess a degree in engineering or environmental science; an MBA in marketing would be advantageous.
- Accreditation as a Category 2 Greenhouse and Energy Auditor by the Clean Energy Regulator is highly valued.
- Accumulate 68 years of experience in the sustainability field.
- Acquire an understanding of ESG reporting frameworks, such as GRI, SASB, DJSI/S&P, CDP, regional regulations, TCFD, etc.
- Showcase strong knowledge of existing and evolving ESG concepts and practices across various sectors and geographies.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the ESG market in India and the region.
- Exhibit overall project management leadership in complex projects, ensuring ontime and onbudget delivery with high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Display capability to work under pressure with strategic optimization, maintaining flexibility in work hours, and working independently with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
- Strong problemsolving and data analysis skills, showcasing expertise in data interpretation and a firstprinciple problemsolving approach.
- Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Experience in management audits related to Economic, Environmental, and Social Standards.
- Collaboration with client executives, managing directors, plant managers, facility directors, Sales and Marketing/Sales personnel, engineering, and EHS personnel.
