The Clinical Education and Training Unit leads an integrated approach to clinical education and training, helping Barwon Health to achieve its education goals by delivering, supporting and promoting coordinated, quality education and training across health care roles in Barwon Health and the Barwon South Western Region.

This dynamic unit is committed to the delivery of superior education, training and/or workforce development through high-quality clinical learning environments.


About the role

As a Clinical Facilitator you will work with enrolled and registered nursing students, preceptors and ward staff to create an environment that supports, promotes and enhances the learning experience.

Nursing students undertake clinical placements at Barwon Health across a variety of clinical settings throughout the year.

When student activity is reduced you have the opportunity to be redeployed into the clinical setting to maintain your clinical currency.

You will work closely with the Clinical Placement Coordinator

  • Nursing and Education Provider staff to enhance relationships and the models of clinical placement offered. You will also have the opportunity to enhance relationships with the wider Clinical Education and Training team and become involved with some of the programs the team offer.


You will possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to assess, plan, implement strategies and evaluate individual student learning needs.

You will demonstrate leadership qualities, have consolidated experience in a clinical area and a commitment to education.

This is a part time parental relief position at 48 hours per fortnight.
