Role:


Key Roles and Responsibilities
The ability to design and deliver high-level youth athletic development services and curriculum to the Western Heights College Specialist Sports program

Develop systems, programs and long-term athletic development plans for the soccer and netball programs

Plan and deliver the rehabilitation process for student athletes from early-stage rehabilitation through to return to performance. Implement this in conjunction with the schools physiotherapist, athletic development coaches, sporting coaches and SSP program leader

  • Deliver strength, conditioning and training preparation programs primarily to the soccer and netball cohort and provide assistant coaching in the soccer program.
  • Deliver programs that demonstrate the schools values of courage, community and integrity, supporting the SSP mantra of 'excellence in sport and life'
  • Manage the physical performance testing, data collection, evaluation and feedback for the soccer, netball and rehabilitation programs. Use this data for ongoing reporting, assessment and analysis.
  • Support the assessment of injuries in student athletes and colead triage to physiotherapy and allied health services
  • Work with WHC staff to ensure long term development plans are in place for all SSP students
  • Codevelop standards for performance, aptitude and behaviour that help with the student athlete selection process for incoming students
  • Provide mentoring opportunities and professional development for assistant coaches within the SSP
