We're looking for a Brand Designer and Illustrator to contribute to the tone and elevate the Dovetail brand across digital and physical touch points.

Together with the brand marketing team, you'll be responsible for helping build a brand that's loved, memorable, and a joy for people to interact with.


What you'll do
-
Execute on a variety of creative projects. You'll work with our brand marketing team and other departments within Dovetail to execute our brand across multiple internal and external channels and touch points, including product, marketing, social media, campaigns, events and more.

Create beautiful, cohesive, and consistent designs. Using your deep knowledge of visual design principles and passion for design, you'll take direction and work collaboratively to develop and execute on creative to a high standard of quality and detail.

Develop emotive and engaging illustrations. Combine your skills in drawing, color, composition and storytelling to create digital illustrations that align to our visual guidelines and enliven key messaging for customers across our platforms.

Support the brand marketing team. Together with our creative and marketing specialists, you'll produce work that tells our brand story and aligns to our brand marketing initiatives. You'll contribute ideas and designs to support us in driving towards a shared outcome.

Be an internal brand advocate. As the team grows, we need to build and maintain brand guidelines and design systems, nurture brand adoption and help others in the business create materials that align with our brand.

Collaborate with others. You'll work closely with teams across Dovetail to understand and stay up to date with our customers, product, strategy, and business objectives.


Your background
-
Strong brand and visual design experience. You'll have a background in a design role at an agency, design studio, or a start-up / scale-up.

Illustrative prowess. You have proven experience translating complex ideas and concepts into simple, compelling visuals that educate and entertain.

Multidisciplinary by nature. You're capable of bringing to life strategically driven creative work across various physical and digital platforms.

Confidence navigating brand guidelines. You're experienced in working with brand guidelines and understand when to follow the rules and when to break them.

Practical design tool skills. You're familiar with digital tools like Figma, Affinity and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Experience collaborating with others. You have a proven ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders and departments outside of your own, confidently advocating for your output so that you can work towards a common creative goal.

Pragmatism. Comfortable with ambiguity, and shifting deadlines. You can solve problems, and are able to make pragmatic trade-offs when prioritizing work. You are capable of identifying blockers ahead of time and working around them to deliver on your projects.

Excellent communication. Skilful, concise communication so you can easily communicate creative concepts, convey your opinions to the team, and rationalize your decisions.
