A detail-oriented individual who enjoys writing and is able to communicate clearly to a range of audiences.

We need someone who can work flexibly and is articulate to help us produce a variety of documents, including both legal and non-legal documents.

Who We Are
RES is a responsible entity with a retail Australian Financial Services Licence.

We provide investor and funds management, risk and compliance, and document drafting services across all industries, including property development, mining and tech.

We're looking for an individual who understands the importance of communication and teamwork and who'll help us manage the balance between risk and commercial viability.

What You'll Do

• Draft or assist with documents and related processes, including: legal agreements, letters, memos, policies, ASICcompliant materials (e.g. product disclosure statements) and reports.
• Conduct research to understand relevant laws / regulations and market and industry trends to provide informed advice and support to team members.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine required legal documents and minimise risk to the business.
• Maintain a logical filing system for important documents.

What You Should Have / Know

Excellent written English: you won't always have someone to proof your work so your grammar should be impeccable. You should also communicate in plain English - no legalese here, except maybe when you're communicating with other lawyers. We pride ourselves on producing documents that are informative and easy to read, even for those who aren't familiar with the industry.

Legal background:you should be comfortable reviewing contract clauses and providing advice against a variety of issues. Ideally, you'll have experience drafting contracts, but we are willing to work with you on this if you're the perfect fit for us otherwise.

Ability to work autonomously:you'll be working remotely and will often have to rely on yourself to come up with a solution to problems you encounter. Even without COVID restrictions, no handholding here.

Time management: we don't look over your shoulder, but we have important timeframes just like everyone else - you should be able to manage your own schedule to meet deadlines.
