Description

Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne is looking for an energetic, motivated and proactive Maintenance Assistant / Handy Person to join our maintenance team on a casual basis.

You will be joining a team who takes pride in the work they do and who takes on the responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the maintenance needs of the building.


The successful person will have proven experience in working autonomously as well as part of a team and the ability to problem solve.

  • Carry out and complete all maintenance work/requests and ensures high quality of work
  • Have sound knowledge of a range of general handywork such as plastering, plumbing, carpentry, pool and painting
  • Ability to liaise with Hotel Manager regarding use of contractors within the hotel, controlling expenditure and ensuring work is to the standard required by the company and manufacturer specifications
  • Ability to handle and maintain all power tools
  • Carry out work and preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner
  • Have exceptional eye for detail, ensuring all rooms and public areas are presented to a high standard
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with contractors
  • Maintaining occupational health and safety requirements by ensuring that work is carried out safely and securing all areas of work at all times

This is a full time permanent position and you will be required to work Monday to Friday with some weekend work required, so flexibility will be highly desirable.
