Description

Position Information:

Camden High School is a fully comprehensive coeducational high school that caters to approximately 1100 students, including 62 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students, as well as 7 special education classes for students with identified learning needs.

Our school has strong ties to the local community and is highly regarded for the broad range of opportunities and social experiences offered to the students.

The Camden community values post-schooling pathways, and we pride ourselves on our ability to support students in their transition from school into traineeships, employment and tertiary education options.

We are one of the largest providers of school-based traineeships in the region and offer extensive opportunities for students to pursue vocational education pathways through the Macarthur Trade Training Centre arrangement and through our long-standing partnerships with Western Sydney University, University of Wollongong, TAFE NSW, My Gateway, MWLP and NSW Health.

In Years 7 and 8, we offer an enrichment class to our students, which provides scope to extend these students in their educational abilities as well as a fully supervised HSC Hub to support senior students striving for academic excellence in their Higher School Certificate exams.

This is supported by 82 permanent teaching staff, with 2 additional teacher positions funded through the SBAR. In addition, we are supported by 18 permanent SAOs and 11 SLSOs in learning support.

Through these initiatives and staffing, we maintain a commitment to improving student learning outcomes in literacy, numeracy and the HSC.

Camden High School has a strong sporting culture, especially through the sporting exchange program with Cowra High School, which has been running for 50 years.

We also encourage students to pursue agricultural, technological, creative arts and performing arts experiences at school. School priorities include wellbeing, literacy, numeracy, Aboriginal education, as well as engagement and future focused learning.
