About the Opportunity
As the Manager Sustainability (Environment), you will be supported by an Environmental Officer, Land Conservation Officer and Operations Supervisor in leading Council's sustainability, environment, waste and land management initiatives and ensuring community needs are met and delivered with a customer focus whilst cultivating a culture of collaboration, commitment and accountability underpinned by cost effective operations and use of Council's resources.
The role reports directly to the Executive Manager Environment and is responsible for the leadership and management of a range of programs and services including:
About you
You should have Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management or a related field, a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience relating to waste, land conservation and/or environment management. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, projects and programs, contract and project management including tender process and negotiation and managing budgets and resources. A high level of communication skills including the ability to convey and impart complex information in an easy-to-understand format and a proactive attitude towards workplace safety.
