Purpose of the Role


As a part of our growth strategy, we have an opportunity for a Project Finance Planning and Analysis Analyst, to join our Melbourne based business.

This role reports to the Director Project Support and Administration.


This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hard-working, experienced Project Finance Planning and Analysis Analyst who has managed finances across a range of sectors and is seeking their next challenge to develop their career in a renowned worldwide business.


The Project Finance Planning and Analysis Analyst, is an integral part of the day-to-day running of the finances for the project, including the preparation of the financial, management and Board reports.


  • Principal Responsibilities
  • Provide financial and analytical support to the Project Director and Governance Board to make critical business decisions.
  • Working closely with finance and project team to deliver reports, analyse findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities.
  • Develop strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of communications and resolution of issues.
  • Performing adhoc analysis proactively or as directed, to provide performance insights that aid growth and focus appropriate resource allocation
  • Internal vs external cost analysis for exploring opportunities for change in strategy.
  • Support cost analysis for comparing different suppliers to increase Australian Industry Capability (AIC).
  • Estimating and Pricing support for change requests including Contract Change Proposals (CCP) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP).
  • Cost control including actuals to date, Estimate to Completion (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) for comparison to budget as per work breakdown structure for the contract.
  • Assist with monthly project finance reports/costs in accordance with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Support the Customer Lifecycle Cost Model for the acquisition and sustainment including price escalation factors, exchange rates.
  • Create milestone and adjustment payment invoices for all currencies and indices.
  • Support Procurement for milestone and adjustment payments from suppliers.
  • Support Management reporting function relating to costs.
  • Support in producing monthly costs to monthly budgets reports.
  • Assist in preparation of cashflow as per spend profile.
  • Assist in costing risk register with basis of estimate (BoE) for all items (risks, issues, and opportunities).
  • Update Price model based on any identified changes.
  • Assist in preparation of the Quoting for Survey and Quote Services for Customer submission.
  • Assist in preparation of the price submission for Spares, Training Equipment and ST&E based on approved provisioning list.
  • Conduct periodend Inventory Control to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the Inventory System and Reports. Support in preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts, including project consolidation accounting with speed and accuracy.
  • Adhoc tasks as defined by Director PMO or Global Finance Team.
