Closing Date: 21/02/2023- Job Type: Permanent - Part Time- Location: Maitland- Job Category: OtherAll Saints' College Maitland is seeking a permanent part-time (25 hours per week) Canteen Assistant to join the team in 2023.


All Saints' College is a coeducational year 7-12 Catholic School which is part of the Maitland Newcastle Diocese system of schools.

With approximately 1400 students and 200 staff learning and working across 2 campuses, we are the largest school in our diocese and one of the largest Catholic Schools in the state.

St Peter's Campus caters for our year 7-10 students, and St Mary's Campus caters for our senior students in years 11 and 12.

Following the decision by the Diocese in 2021 the College will be transitioning to one campus in the next few years.

The Canteen Officer is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the school canteen including opening and closing the canteen and preparing and selling menu items as per the canteen menu.

The position requires the ability to follow relevant food handling and money handling policies in addition to maintaining a cooperative working environment and provide a friendly, customer focused service to studentsand staff within the school community.


Desired Skills and Experience:


EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated understanding of current Work, Health and Safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of preparation, proper storage and disposal of food.
  • Knowledge of cleaning, and hand hygiene.
  • Practical experience in the operation of a café or canteen.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and the ability to achieve organisational and team values, goals and objectives and to behave professionally.
  • Experience in handling cash.
  • Experience in school canteen (Desirable)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Food Supervisor Certificate or undertaking to complete the course within 2 years of employment
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
