ERM is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant - Environmental Planner (Impact Assessment) to be based in our Melbourne office, to provide project management, environmental approvals and environmental management services on large-scale capital development projects, including for renewables, infrastructure and industrial sector clients.

As a Principal Consultant, you will contribute your leadership, client relationship, and technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM's business and client base within the sectors, while networking with ERM's global Impact Assessment technical team to share multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the industry.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of approvals strategies and documentation, environmental impact assessments (including EES) and complex approvals processes.
  • Project manage multiple projects within scope and budget and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Support Account Directors to maintain existing client relationships and develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities, including proposal preparation.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and mentor junior and midlevel consulting staff to develop their skills in environmental impact assessments, planning and approvals.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across the ERM business.
If you have the following, we want to hear from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience in environmental planning and impact assessments.
  • Superior project management and project delivery skills, including time management, resource management, and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining excellent relationships with key clients.
  • Welldeveloped team building and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.
  • Excellent writing, communication, presentation, strategic thinking, and people skills.
  • Authorisation to work in Australia.
