Lindsay Rural and the Hunters business provide essential services and products to rural Australia across most Australian growing regions.


Today we employ over 1,800 exceptional individuals, with roughly 35% based in Regional Australia, and together we service over 1.5 million tonnes of temperature-controlled freight every year across the country.


The Role:


Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the National Pallet Manager is responsible for ensuring that all pallets are tracked correctly within the working systems and overseeing and managing the work of the Pallets team.


Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Compile pallet balances across all account and monitor increases.
  • Provide training and support to our Transport depots nationally.
  • Manage and ensure all transfers off Lindsay Transport accounts are processed in a timely manner.
  • Manage and ensure all rejections are reprocessed where necessary.
  • Monitor IOU balances.
  • Coordinate weekly stocktakes and provide KPI reports to management each month.
  • Coordinate monthly reporting.
  • Coordinate and oversee yearly national stocktake.
  • Manage dehiring and issues of pallets.
  • Train depot on pallet management to increase awareness of practices and reduce number of damaged and missing pallets.
  • Keep up to date with system changes to 2IC, Chep and Loscam systems.
  • Ensure pallets are being used and managed effectively across the whole network.

About You:

To succeed in this role, we anticipate you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous management or supervisory experience
  • Experience within the transport / logistics industry
  • A strong working knowledge of 2IC, Chep and Loscam systems
  • High level reasoning skills and problemsolving ability
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Willingness to persevere with challenging tasks.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Intermediate PC, Excel, and reporting skills.
  • Superior customer service skills
  • The ability to lead a team remotely.
