Description

ACADEMIC ADVISER (PART-TIME) - PERFORM AUSTRALIA ACADEMY
Perform Australia is a registered training organisation (RTO and a leading provider of performing arts education in the ACT.

We are seeking a qualified secondary school teacher for the Perform Australia Academy, to fill our part-time role of 'Academic Adviser'.

Formerly known as two programs, 'The Thrive Program' (Year 7-10) and 'Young Professionals' (Year 11-12), we are transitioning to a new, single program as 'the Academy', and we are seeking a high school drama teacher (or a teacher from another discipline, who has an appreciation of the arts) to lead the charge and serve as Academic Adviser to the program.

The role of Academic Adviser is around 20 hours per week onsite at our campus in Griffith. It may suit a semi-retired teacher or a teacher looking for a lighter load for a better work-life balance.

The Academy Program

The program is aimed at aspiring professional performers - young people who show an aptitude for acting on stage and screen.

They learn about acting technique for stage and screen, voice, movement and performance.

Their tutors in their performing arts ed are local actors, directors, dancers and vocalists with a significant body of work of their own, many of them award-winning.

In academics, students are either using Euka Future Learning or are enrolled with the Cairns School of Distance Education.
