  • This position will provide advisory service to TAO management and staff on recruitment, position management processes and general human resource issues including establishment. The Assistant Manager will coordinate endtoend recruitment and learning and development activities for staff at all levels in the organisation.

As the Assistant Manager Human Resources, you'll facilitate end-to-end recruitment processes and work with our senior management team to deliver and enhance our learning and development program.


An understanding of the Tasmanian State Service and recent experience in learning and development, recruitment or generalist human resources will be highly regarded.

Hours per fortnight:

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.


Duties:


  • Provide advice, support and coaching to managers and supervisors on recruitment and learning and development within their business units.
  • Assist in the implementation of TAO recruitment strategies, in line with TAO Recruitment and Selection Framework and the Tasmanian State Service employment framework.
  • Work collaboratively with Hiring Managers and specialist to assist in the design and evaluation of roles and business unit structures, inline with relevant classification standards.
  • Manage a learning and development calendar to meet the annual needs of staff as identified in the Office's learning and development framework and individual learning and development plans.
  • Coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of learning and development programs as identified in the annual calendar, including the preparation of reporting and metrics on the effectiveness of learning and development activities.
  • Undertake research, provide recommendations, and draft policy and procedure documentation.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with relevant stakeholders and represent the Office on committees, working groups and forums.


Performance is measured against Key Performance Indicators that are developed and agreed to for each role in the Office and documented in annual Performance Plans.

Desirable Requirements:


  • Degree or diploma in a relevant discipline.
  • Driver's Licence.
