    About the Role:

As the People and Capability Advisor, you will be reporting to the P&C Manager, working on our Anglo-American Contract within Ventia's Living Services business unit.

Ventia provide Hard and Soft Facilities Maintenance services including village maintenance and accommodation to several Anglo-American sites across the Bowen Basin.


The People and Capability Advisor is responsible for the provision of human resource/employee relations advice, case management to the business and for assisting in building basic employee relations knowledge and capability amongst the users of the HR Service Centre.


This role is a permanent, part time role (3 days per week), with the flexibility to balance time in the office (West End, Brisbane) with working home.

Some travel to sites in the Bowen Basin will be required.

  • FTE $120,000 TFR (prorated to 3 days per week $72,000 TFR)

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide timely, considered, and compliant advice to support leaders and employees on performance and conduct-related matters.
  • Case management of employment relations matters including serious misconduct and misconduct investigations, performance matters, employee grievances and conduct issues.
  • Interpret and provide advice on company policies and enterprise agreements.
  • Work with the Health and Injury Management team to manage ill and injured employees.
  • Support the business and P&C team by facilitating relevant training.

Key Experiences & Skills

  • Qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 24 years' experience in a similar People & Capability role, in a medium to large organisation
  • Experience in interpreting industrial instruments, and managing employee and industrial relations issues
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to travel to site on a semi regular basis as required
