We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Officer to join a local city council. In this role, you will be responsible for providing Level 1 and 2 support. The council premises are a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne CBD

Key responsibilities:

  • Image desktop PCs to specific SOE requirements and installation of additional hardware components and peripherals.
  • Perform daily tape backup runs to change, retrieve, clean, load, collate and label backup tapes, and to maintain these backup tapes off site
  • Test new hardware, arrange UAT, register and roll out new IT assets and return replaced equipment for decommissioning.
  • Setup loan equipment (such as projector etc) for purpose of Council related presentation
  • Log, record and manage all requests assigned to you via the IT Helpdesk system, escalate tickets to external vendors as required in order to meet request closure timeframes
  • Prepare mobile devices (iPhones, iPad etc), deploy them, and manage via T-MDM.
  • Troubleshoot and Support Teams meeting rooms
  • Troubleshoot and Support machines on AoVPN
  • Monitoring and updating inventory of all hardware assets

Experience:


  • At least 5 years of experience with the technologies listed under key responsibilities.
  • Experience providing technical support and a high standard of service to all business system users at the desktop level.
  • Good analytical and problemsolving skills to readily identify, understand and resolve problems are required.
  • Highly motivated and with a welldeveloped sense of responsibility to meet objectives and a willingness to learn new technologies and best practices
  • Facilitation skills to provide informal training to IT staff and users.
