We have established a new Future Skills business unit who will work closely with the College's existing Industry and Education teams, as well as Monash University to develop and deliver a range of programs aligned to corporate clients in both graduate effectiveness and general skills development.


With the current emphasis on micro-credentials and enhancing digital skills, Future Skills aims to address shortages of trained staff in emerging technologies and future workforce needs.


About your next role
The Technology Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and managing the Future Skills department technology infrastructure and resources.

This leadership role involves overseeing technology projects, managing teams, building and maintaining industry and vendor relationships while ensuring project goals align and enhance the departments and Monash College's objectives.

An element of teaching will be required for this role.

You must be able to demonstrate currency and competency to deliver VET training in ICT, Cyber Security, Networking or infrastructure management.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and coach team members to enable high performing results which include training and performance evaluations
  • Facilitate local training sessions to drive service improvements through user training, automation and communication
  • Deliver effective teaching practices and resources that engage and satisfy students learning outcomes
  • Deliver planned sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology including Moodle, H5P, Video conference tools to engage students and meet their needs and learning styles
  • Proactively support the efficient use of Monash College resources and meet student needs by increasing the use of blended learning options or offsite delivery technologies
  • Develop and support a Future Skills technology strategy that aligns with those of Monash College and Monash University
  • Create a technology roadmap for the Future Skills area to guide future technology initiatives, evaluate and recommend technology solutions and investments
  • Work with Monash University on dedicated Future Skills technology, particularly relating to Cyber security and Networking education, projects Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, objectives and deliverables

Your background and experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science) and relevant work experience and TAE40116 or equivalent teaching certification
  • Teaching experience in Higher Education is desirable
  • Experienced in supporting largescale deployments of varied end user devices, networking infrastructure and data centre deployment
  • Excellent communication and project management skill to liaise and coordinate with vendors
  • Experience designing, creating, deploying and delivering education in a VET and higher education environment
  • Automation and cloud technologies, data centre design and virtualisation
