We are currently seeking an accomplished Drafting and Design Manager to taker a leadership role of our dynamic and motivated team based at our offices located near the Perth Airport precinct.

The Role


Drafting & Design Manager will be based in our is responsible for the coordination of all Drafting & Design resources including preparing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring and reporting of Drafting & Design activities, as well as creation and implementation of Drafting & Design management strategies, processes, policies and procedures.

The role requires interfacing with multidiscipline design and

implementation of high-quality engineering solutions using best Engineering, Drafting & Design practices, standards and tools.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of Drafting & Design resources scheduling and activities to effectively manage the delivery of Engineering deliverables
  • Management of Drafting & Design resources performance, budgeting and periodic forecasting
  • Defining and managing priorities against the available capacity of Drafting & Design resources
  • Setting timelines for deliverables and encouraging regular iteration deliverables
  • Facilitating design development, change and functionality
  • Formulation of Drafting & Design management strategies, process, policies and plans
  • Development & standardisation of Engineering, Drafting and Design documentation
  • Review and approvals of Drafting & Design documentation
  • Liaising and collaborating with internal Divisions/Departments
  • Work with Engineering & Design Manager on selection and hiring of staff
  • Client liaising
  • Approvals processing
  • Monitor and implement relevant Australian Standards, Mines Regulations and Statutory requirements
  • Foster a workforce culture of excellence, innovation, honesty, and teamwork

About you:

  • Strong understanding of Engineering, Drafting and Design principles
  • Tertiary and/or Post Graduate qualification in Engineering
  • Technical Writing Experience
  • Supervisory and Project Management experience
  • Be energetic, positive and proactive
  • Highly developed people management skills with an ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent time management skills, conflict resolution abilities and experience in managing the requirements of technical persons in facilitating a project(technical input and management of technical risk)
  • Broad understanding of engineering disciplines and design processes involved in projects
  • Sound understanding of statutory, industry standards and specifications
