Position Information
Erskine Park High School is a comprehensive Western Sydney school located in the Eastern Creek network of schools.

The school's 870 enrolment includes 6% of students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and a further 11% of students who come from backgrounds where English is an Additional Language or Dialect.

The school also has a Support Unit of five classes.

Key whole school initiatives include a BYOD program that harnesses an innovative use of technology; a focus on explicit and visible teaching and learning in all classrooms; extensive professional learning programs to develop the capacity of all staff; vocational education and inclusive disability provision.

The school is a member of the St Clair Erskine Park community of schools. School staff are supported by a wide range of community partnerships.


Please note that this position is not a traditional Head Teacher Wellbeing role, with the successful applicant leading a Stage based team that focuses on the learning and wellbeing outcomes of all students within the Stage.


Specific Selection Criteria

  • Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,


Demonstrated leadership of teams in the development, delivery and evaluation of wellbeing and learning support initiatives that cater for the complex and differentiated needs of learners to support student growth and attainment.


Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the proven capacity to build relationships and effectively collaborate with Departmental staff, external agencies and the wider school community to plan and support student learning and wellbeing.


Ability to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school processes and initiatives that support the school's strategic directions with a focus on developing a culture of ongoing school improvement.


General Selection Criteria

  • 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
