Due to the recent expansion of our Philanthropy business, we have two fantastic opportunities within our team for experienced Relationship Managers, with an interest for positive social change:

Both roles require client and sector engagement experience and you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality standard of service to associated stakeholders whether that be Co Trustees, Philanthropists, family members, advisory members or investment advisors.

Key outcomes in this role will be strong client satisfaction levels, solid commercial outcomes, governance oversight and demonstrable delivery of positive social impact for the community.


Reporting to the respective National Managers, you will have an integral role within the Philanthropy & Community Trustee Services team, which is collectively responsible for overseeing the distribution of approximately $120 million per annum of funding/income to support charitable organisations to drive positive social change for Australia.


About the roles:


  • Managing a portfolio of Charitable Trusts and/or Foundations to a high standard.
  • Managing all external stakeholders related to your portfolio (Co-Trustees, Advisory Panel Members, Sector Partners, Philanthropists, Next Generation successors, Advisory Panel Members, Senior decision makers within corporates, Sector Partners, external Investment Managers etc).
  • Managing all governance and secretariat responsibilities of your portfolio to ensure high governance standards are met in an efficient and quality manner.
  • Working closely with our internal Social Impact team.
  • Working closely with internal team members to support key clients and understand the investment philosophy and strategies for our various Managed Funds.
  • Having oversight of the fiduciary obligations and all related governance requirements of your portfolio, such as annual Audits and engagement with the ACNC.
  • In the Charitable Trusts role, overseeing the investments within the trusts (in conjunction with internal asset management support), with an understanding of investment fundamentals, and in particular, Australian equities, asset allocation strategies and different risk profiles.
  • Where required, act as the company representative where Equity Trustees Wealth Services Limited or Australian Executors Trustee is a Co-Trustee.
  • Representing EQT or AET at key client meetings and events.
  • Collaborating with internal business units to ensure that all objectives and obligations of your portfolio are met to a high standard.
  • In the Active Philanthropy role, developing and executing opportunities to win new business where appropriate to grow the Philanthropy & Community Trust team portfolio, and curating thought leadership content suitable for stakeholders within the Active Philanthropy portfolio.

What you'll need to succeed:


  • Strong Relationship Management experience, with exposure to the Philanthropy or For-Purpose sector.
  • Proven experience in influencing outcomes and identifying crosssell opportunities.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in order to service your accounts endtoend, including a number of core Administrative tasks.
  • Some knowledge of the operations and governance of charitable trusts and the relevant legislation eg. Trustee Act, Charities Act, Trustee Companies Act.
  • Be a collaborative, team player approach with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent analytical skills, written/verbal skills, and high attention to detail.
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications, in financial services, professional advisory or client relationship management.

Specifically, for the Charitable Trusts role:

  • Technical knowledge of the financial services sector gained from the Trustee industry or Social Sector, Family Office, Private Bank or Wealth Management environments.
  • Sound knowledge of investment markets and managed funds with an understanding of portfolio construction. The ability to interpret and communicate investment strategies with sophisticated stakeholders.
  • Experience with various aspects of portfolio administration, such as, preparation of cashflow projections, understanding of performance reporting, assisting with the preparation of investment reviews (SOA's) and investment operations processes.
  • Does not require ongoing FASEA accreditation, however this role would suit someone with Financial Adviser (associate level) or Private Banking experience, BDM experience in financial services market or someone with sound investment principles who is comfortable advising clients.
