The Role


The National Account Manager's role is to increase Sanitarium revenue for the assigned customer or category portfolio within the designated channel/customer.

The revenue growth is to be achieved within cost budgets and with the expectation of exceptional customer service.

Revenue growth is to be achieved by driving the corporate, brand and category objectives and efficient financial management of trade promotion budgets.

Specific focus is given to category development where Sanitarium has a presence, assist in Retail business Plan development and direct range reviews for the allocated categories by customer.

This role will report to the Business Manager - Energy & Convenience.

  • Implement Sales strategies to achieve business goals within a specified and designated location.
  • Develop, implement and achieve annual revenue, category and operating targets for given categories.
  • Drive and implement Retailer sponsored business plans and reporting schedules for trading categories.
  • Develop and manage trade relationships at Category Manager / Business Manager level for given categories.
  • Support and input to the accurate forecasting of the Demand Planning process.
  • Ensure that Trade fund management process, procedures and reports are implemented and followed for given categories.
  • Drive Retailer Range Reviews & Process for assigned customers.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship within the E&C SCAM Team.

Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a Sales role (Field, Brand or Category Management).
  • Proven knowledge of strategic retail category plan development and successful implementation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Energy & Convenience market /channel including leading E&C customers and retail banners is highly regarded.
  • Sound understanding of and demonstrated commitment to compliance with all legislation relating to Sanitarium Health Food Company and all activities undertaken in your role including meeting ACCC regulatory requirements.
  • Tertiary or education in Sales/Marketing/Finance is desirable.
