Community Kindergarten Inclusion Support Assistant - Casual

Casual position (18 hours per fortnight commencing Term July This role is for an Assistant in the Wednesday/Thursday/Friday Group.

The Role

Tingalpa & District Kindergarten, a C&K Affiliated Centre is looking for an experienced, qualified and dynamic Inclusion Support Assistant to join our team.

As the Inclusion Support Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the staff in implementing a quality care and education program for kindergarten aged children.

You would have the ability to assist in providing one on one support for children with challenging behaviours and additional needs as required.

The successful applicant must have previous experience in an early childhood education and care setting, have the drive and capability to implement and introduce inclusive strategies into the program, and be flexible with their hours.

The hours will be agreed upon prior to commencement, although will be for a total of 18 per fortnight over 6 days.

Please note these hours will be reviewed throughout the year based on the inclusion needs of the service with the potential of an increase of hours.

Hold a Certificate III or Diploma Qualification in Early Childhood (qualifications must be recognised by ACECQA)
Hold or willing to obtain a current Blue Card
Confidence working with challenging behaviours
Have a patient and positive attitude with high levels of enthusiasm, initiative, motivation and creativity
Prior experience in an early year's education setting. Prior experience working in an Inclusion support role will be highly regarded

About C&K Tingalpa & District Kindergarten
Tingalpa Kindergarten is a single unit community kindergarten that educates and cares for 22 children each day. We operate 2 groups across the week.

Our long day group operates from 8.30am to 4.00pm on Monday and Tuesday and our short day group operates from 8.30am to 2.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

We operate alongside the State School Terms.

Our centre was opened in 1968 in response to a need in the community for a Kindergarten in Tingalpa and the surrounding areas.

Whilst progress and development has changed the surrounding areas, the need is still as strong as ever for the peace, security and educational challenge the Kindergarten provides.

The centre enjoys a high standard of equipment and facilities, with a spacious outdoor area and extremely well designed building.

Our vision is to provide a high standard of education through a play based curriculum that fosters warm and trusting interactions between children, families and staff in a supportive, nurturing environment.

We aim to provide an interactive environment where together children and educators create and share opportunities for learning.
