Description:


As a key member of the ATSICHS Education, Prevention and Early Intervention team, the Programs and Events Officer is expected to personally contribute to the shaping and achievement of ATSICHS vision and goals within their own scope.

The Program and Events Officer will provide four (4) key functions:

Role Functions


The Program and Events Officer will work collaboratively with Program Specialists, Child Health Nurse and CFC Manager to support early intervention and prevention outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The Program and Events Officer will coordinate, develop, and initiate events within the approved event program and provide support to all activities and events run by the CFC, while adhering to timelines and budget.

The Programs and Events Officer will also assist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of early intervention, prevention, and targeted programs aimed at whole-of-family support and change.


The role will specifically be responsible for four Functions:

Plan the scope of events:

utilise your creativity and bring the CFC vision to life through targeting the appropriate audience including media, open days, and community events that showcase the Child and Family Centre Jarjumbora.

The Program and Events Officer will work collaboratively with the Programs Specialists, Child Health Nurse, and the CFC Manager to develop relevant, exciting, and targeted events to align with our service agreement in meeting early intervention and prevention performance measures.

Development and planning; Facilitate and deliver suitable activities and events that are evidence-based and link back to our service agreement, and prepare high quality reports, proposals, presentation materials, and correspondence associated with events and program activities.

Working within a designated budget, the Programs and Events Officer will be responsible for the preparation of an events calendar, preparation of event collateral, coordination with the marketing team, risk assessments, and networking with relevant community groups and individuals.


Program facilitation:

Assist the Program Specialists in the development and facilitation of targeted child and family programs to facilitate positive child-parent attachment and family wellbeing.


Client Care:

Assist families to access ATSICHS services including a 715 health check for all household members, paediatric clinics for child immunisations, Family Wellbeing Team for targeted family support interventions, Family Participation Program (FPP) in cases involving statutory child protection concerns, Youth Team for adolescent wellbeing, Social Health (mental health) team, Kindergartens and Housing Support Service.

Organisational Contributions

The Program and Events Officer will engage parents and children into the participation of targeted programs.

The role will remove barriers for our families and community to access services and facilitate programs, often focussed on resilience building.

The Program and Events Officer will work in collaboration with other ATSICHS services to provide wrap-around pathways of care.

Contribute to the Development of a Flourishing Team


Staff will actively participate in team activities and contribute to a flourishing workplace culture that promotes the ethos and values of ATSICHS Brisbane as a long-standing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.


Skills and Experiences:


Essential:


Diploma level qualifications in marketing or event planning or event coordination OR 5 years relevant experience working in event management and administration, communication or similar.

Demonstrated ability in working with multiple agencies to achieve results
Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.

Excellent organisational and administrative skills including attention to detail, ability to track and prioritise work, and complete tasks within deadlines.

A high level of computer literacy and experience using
