What's the role?

Sport is the backbone of News Corp and all its channels and this is an opportunity to join our national digital sport team to help deliver the best in sport journalism to our huge audiences around the country.

As a digital sport producer you will be at the epicentre of everything we do: producing compelling content, driving subscriptions, retaining and growing audience, publishing breaking news, live coverage of major events, aligning with year-round strategy and campaigns while delivering a top quality experience for our readers.

Please notice this is not a reporting role.

In this role you will ensure our content production and delivery is cutting-edge, data-led, informative, entertaining, speaks to all demographics, brings in new readers and suits the platforms they are using across.

Helping to drive subscription content, engagement and find new audiences for our metro mastheads (The Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun, Courier-Mail & The Adelaide Advertiser).

We thrive on ideas and delivering sport content in new, innovative ways - you will be central to this becoming a reality.

You will communicate new ways to increase our digital footprint, through continually exploring content data, customer trends in distribution, communication and interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the daytoday production of national and international sports news
  • Reimagining how content is produced and displayed on multiple platforms for a paying audience
  • Generating ideas and campaigns that bring in new audience demographics
  • Challenging the norm on sports content and how it is consumed online
  • Undertake and complete website build and production tasks across brands under the direction of the head of sport
  • Communicate with national teams
  • Being part of an energetic national team obsessed with delivering the best sport content
  • Working a mix of nights and weekends across a variety of start and finish times
  • Opportunity for professional growth and continued learning

Who are you?

We are looking for a team member with a passion for all things digital, a solid understanding of subscription-based media and experience in a newsroom to come and steer our delivery through the evenings.

A wide-ranging knowledge of sport - more than just NRL and cricket - is also essential. So too are great communication skills and the ability to deliver under pressure.

  • Passionate about all things digital media
  • Sports mad
  • You are full of ideas and totally across developing trends and what's new in digital
  • You are data led and familiar with analytics and how to implement strategies based on this
  • Ready to work nights and weekends
  • You have experience working in digital media
  • You're a content consumption and distribution expert.
  • You know what people care about because you're amongst it, constantly trawling the web, analysing the trends and what's news right now
  • Photoshop and video editing skills are an advantage but not essential.
