Role Description/Criteria
An education at St Mary's is delivered in partnership with 6 mainstream Catholic schools through campuses located at Wantirna South, Ringwood, South Morang, Sunbury, Tarneit and Dandenong.
This enables students with a hearing loss from across Melbourne the opportunity to engage in an inclusive but specialised education.
The Business Manager is located at the Wantirna South Administration building and maintains good working relationships with our 6 partner schools.
The role
The Business Manager has a key role to play in an educational organisation, both planning and in the operational business of the College.
The successful Business Manager requires a high level of competency in areas including finance, general administration, people management, communications, legal issues, information systems technology, leadership and a thorough understanding of and commitment to Catholic education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Actively participating in the development and implementation of the College's strategic planning.
- Managing the preparation of the annual budget, financial forecasts, annual accounts, cash flow, preparing reports and undertaking periodic analysis of budget.
- Oversight of Capital projects and property management.
- Ensuring effective risk management practices are in place, including monitoring of tenders and contracts.
- Negotiating and preparing service level agreements and fostering good working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proven capacity for innovation, commitment to team building and an ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and capabilities in financial management, budget development, forecasting and reporting, systems and processes improvement, financial analysis and monitoring with a focus on excellence in customer service.
- General knowledge of accounting standards and legislation, leadership, management and risk management across a college is advantageous.
- Capacity to lead and manage master planning projects.
- Proven capacity for innovation, commitment to team building and an ability to communicate effectively.
- Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the College
Qualification and Requirements:
Degree qualification in Business Management, Economics, Accounting or related area
- Packaging (tax free) up to $15,900 per annum of salary to rent, mortgage or credit card available to staff._
