_The goal is to give every child in NSW the very best start in life and set them up for future prosperity. This landmark investment comes on top of existing and sustained commitments to promoting quality, accessible and affordable early learning in NSW. The Early Childhood Outcomes Division leads the delivery of the Early Years Commitment program, including comprehensive investments in the critical first 5 years of life for every child - in child development and in early education and care, making investments that support families and the community now, as well as investing in long term reforms for the future._

Key initiatives will include supporting families with young children to access the services they need to support their own prosperity and wellbeing; valuing and growing the early childhood education and care sector and investing in early childhood teachers and educators.

Primary purpose of the role

Undertakes a range of research, analysis, projects and administrative activities to support the formulation of policy advice and recommendations and contribute to the development of policies and projects that support Agency and/or Government commitments.

Key accountabilities

Assist the team in the delivery of a range of policy related projects and initiatives to facilitate the timely delivery of policy objectives
Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned areas and contribute to the preparation of reports to inform decision making and contribute to policy development
Contribute to the preparation of draft correspondence, papers, and minutes to support the development of policy initiatives
Assist the project team to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved
Provide a range of administrative activities, including coordinating working groups and committees, to support stakeholder engagement as well as policy development and implementation
Respond to routine policy queries to provide consistent advice and information

Key challenges

Delivering multiple policy support activities within agreed standards and objectives, given tight deadlines and competing demands and priorities

The teams are focused on policy development, service design, delivering Role Description Assistant Policy and Project Officer 2 programs, with a particular focus on data, information and insights.
