Payroll Officer

What you're good at:
- Minimum five (5) years payroll experience in a similar position
- Payroll experience in a company processing 500+ employees
- Knowledge of Payroll Statutory requirements
- Knowledge of Coins Payroll software or a similar system
- Good computer skills with experience in Microsoft suite of Office products
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent time management skills
Required Skills and Experience / Duties:
_Payroll Processing_
- Coordinates daily timesheet processing across the company
- Ensures leave requests have been entered in the ESS and approved for payment.
- Manages the leave request process and ensure leave register is current and maintained
- Processes weekly wages for employees in a timely and accurate manner including the processing of termination payments.
- Undertakes the reconciliation of leave accruals for employees terminating from the company.
- Produce Payroll reports as required and In accordance with Georgiou's Paperless policy ensure all reporting is recorded in the correct Workplace (DMS) folder for each Pay cycle
- Interprets contracts and industrial instruments and implements process changes required to ensure industrial compliance and correct payment
- Set up of new employees following notification from HR in time for the week's payroll
_Systems_
- Maintain the Georgiou Timesheet System by making amendments and creating new site as required.
- Maintains the Coins Payroll Module and makes amendments and enhancements as required for the efficient and accurate processing of payroll
_General_
- In conjunction with Payroll Manager reviews payroll practices, standards and systems
- Liaises with managers/supervisors and employees in relation to general queries as required
- Undertakes ad hoc task and ensures that all business activities and employees within the position's area of control comply with all legislative/statutory obligations, company policies, codes, standards, procedures and specific company instructions or guidelines published related, but not limited to:
- Georgiou's HSEQ Management System
