The Butterfly Foundation was established in 2002 and is the national charity for all Australians impacted by eating disorders and body image issues. Their mission is to prevent eating disorders and body image issues from occurring, to ensure best possible treatments are available, and that appropriate care and support is there for those affected.
They work to amplify the voice of lived experience and have a number of initiatives in place to do this. Butterfly provides innovative, evidence-based support services, treatment and resources, delivering prevention and early intervention programs and advocating for the needs of their community.
They have a clear purpose. The culture is a caring one. As an organisation they are very aware of the responsibility they have for the people they care for.
