The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual to provide general administrative support and information management to Headquarters 9th Brigade, Keswick Barracks.


As the APS 4 Administration Officer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary and integrated team of Australian Defence Force members, public servants and contractors that support South Australia's 9th Brigade to meet operational and training outcomes.

As the APS 4 Administration Officer you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Front of house reception duties and general administrative support;
  • Information and records management;
  • Data entry on Defence corporate systems;
  • Perform moderate research, interpret data or analysis in order to report on findings;
  • Monitor work practices, identify issues and contribute to the resolution of issues;
  • Be prepared to train, mentor and provide leadership to other administrative employees within the Brigade; and
  • Work within a diverse and team oriented environment.

About our Team
We are seeking an Administration Officer who is an excellent communicator with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have attention to detail, the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and exercise discretion. You will have well developed communication skills with the ability to liaise face-to-face, phone and written correspondence.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative service delivery environment;
  • Demonstrated experience operating a Human Resource Information System (HRIS); you will be required to use, or be trained to use, the Defence HRIS called Personnel Management Key Solution (PMKeyS);
  • Demonstrated experience operating an Information and Records Management System; you will be required to use, or be trained to use, the Defence Records Management System called Objective;
  • A commitment to onthejob training and participation in activities to build and maintain customer service skills and systems;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and work environment; and
  • You will be adaptable in meeting the needs of a changeable work environment and you will embrace the requirement for necessary change, identify improvement opportunities and may coordinate directed administrative policy improvements.
