Closing Date: 19/06/2023- Job Type: Temporary- Location: Raymond Terrace- Job Category: OtherSt Brigid's Primary School, Raymond Terrace is seeking a Temporary Part-Time (4.5 hours per week on a Friday) Canteen Officer to join the team in Term 3 for the remainder of the year.


St Brigid's Primary School, Raymond Terrace is located in the Hunter Region, a short 30-minute drive from Newcastle CBD and Port Stephens.

A school of 386 students catering for K-6, St Brigid's provides a place where the creative and individual talents of each student and teacher is greatly appreciated, embraced and encouraged.

Our school has a strong focus on promoting physical activity and healthy living through all aspects of school life.


The Canteen Officer is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the school canteen including opening and closing the canteen and preparing and selling menu items as per the canteen menu.

The position requires the ability to follow relevant food handling and money handling policies in addition to maintaining a cooperative working environment and provide a friendly, customer focused service to students and staff within the school community.


Desired Skills and Experience:


EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA
Canteen Officer Level - Demonstrated understanding of current Work, Health and Safety requirements.

  • Knowledge of preparation, proper storage and disposal of food.
  • Knowledge of cleaning, and hand hygiene.
  • Practical experience in the operation of a cafĂ© or canteen.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and the ability to achieve organisational and team values, goals and objectives and to behave professionally.
  • Experience in handling cash.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Food Supervisor Certificate or undertaking to complete the course within 2 years of employment
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
