Branch Manager – Waste and Recycling- Collections

Our Client is seeking an experienced Waste and Recycling branch manager to Join the team.

The Branch Manager is responsible for the management of the branch, providing operational, compliance and advisory support to all areas of the business unit.

Demonstrated experience in the management of a branch within the Waste Industry is required along with formal training in Work Health & Safety.

A team player with good communication skills to influence and engage audiences across all levels of the organisation in developing a safety conscious culture by modelling and complying with appropriate safety instructions and behaviours is fundamental.

Capability to manage change effectively, with good analytical and reasoning capabilities, demonstrated consultative orientation and efficient time management skills, to prioritise and handle several different tasks at the same time is critical.

A background in Collections is highly regarded.

Computer literacy, particularly experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

Planning

Staffing
Daily, weekly & monthly priorities
Operations plans & plans of management
Branch development & performance
Organic growth, new market & business opportunities
Ongoing Review & improvement
Capex (12-month budget cycle)
Identify & grow partnering opportunities

Financial

Budget development & performance
Revenue & volume growth
GP margin on waste disposal costs
Supplier negotiations
Tip cost controls (operations plan & budget as a minimum)
Wage & salary controls (Budget as a minimum)
EBITDA growth (budget as a minimum)

Management

Acquisition, deployment & integration of approved CAPEX
Focus & delivery on Branch KPIs
Adherence to company policies & procedures
Implementation of operations plans & plans of management
Depots & bin yards (including presentation/cleanliness)
Maintenance teams (internal & outsourced)
Compliance, Onboard scales (weights & measures) & bin certifications
Systems & IT – training & compliance with company directives & procedures
Company driver recruitment

Operations

Company & brand market presence – Asset presentation + uniformed staff
Branding in accordance with approved "Branding Guidelines"
Oversight of daily operations

Sales

management of Business Development Managers and Sales Staff
Monitor market intel & communicate to senior management
Maximise CS sales into all sectors and markets
In line with run densities & target waste streams, identify organic growth opportunities and communicate to sales team

Accounts

Approval of Owner Driver invoices
Approval of maintenance & supply invoices
New customer account application approvals
Oversight of A/R, A/P, client & general Branch dealings

Administration/Reporting

Daily, weekly & monthly reporting as directed
Monthly reporting & KPIs within 5 business days EOM
Adherence to internal processes and procedures
