THE ROLE

  • We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Duty Managers to support the University sport facilities operations in the delivery of excellent customer experience, ensuring a high level of safety, compliance and venue presentation.
  • Duties include:
  • Overseeing and/or completion of opening and/or closing procedures to ensure venue compliance and safety, undertaking necessary remediation actions as appropriate including, identifying and reporting on repairs and maintenance issues;
  • Proactively managing the daily pool plant operations, testing pool water quality and taking corrective actions, where necessary, ensuring compliance with NSW Health guidelines;
  • Supporting centre staff with setup and pack down requirements for all venue bookings at MUSAC and the Sports Fields as per the bookings system;
  • Working with centre staff to ensure customer feedback/complaints are responded to in a timely and respectful manner (as appropriate), reporting and escalating to suitable department head as required;

  • Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) is a multipurpose venue. Located at Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde, our facility includes a 6lane heated indoor pool, and an 8lane outdoor heated Olympicsized swimming pool, a large Health Club, Gymnastics Hall and sprots halls. We also operate a Sports Fields with 5 multipurpose fields in close proximity to Campus.

  • Duty Managers are required to complete and submit a Health and Fitness assessment upon commencement and annually._

  • Current Working with Children Check, First Aid, CPR, Pool Lifeguard and Aquatic Technical Operator accreditation;
  • Strong experience in the delivery and commitment to a high level of customer service, with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse range of ages, abilities, cultures and needs, in an inclusive and respectful manner;
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to respond to unplanned events in an effective and productive manner;
  • Proven problemsolving skills with the ability to take proactive responsibility to manage situations through to resolutions;
  • Demonstrated strong leadership experience with an ability to influence others and work effectively in a team environment;
  • As a qualified pool lifeguard, you are required to complete and submit a Health and Fitness assessment upon commencement and annually.
