Position overview:We are looking for an experienced
Production Manager to join our Operations Team based in Wacol, QLD.

The role is
a fixed term full time contract for 12 months.

Reporting directly to Site Manager, as the Production Manager, you will manage and guide a team of production employees ensuring that the operations activities happen in a safe manner taking into account allnex's safety, health, environmental, quality and productivity standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage a team of chemical plant operators across the High Temperature Reactors and Polyester Blending Unit plants
  • Review plant activities for compliance to allnex standards and develop appropriate corrective actions to correct nonconformances. Prepare reports on plant performance and corrective actions as required
  • Ensure compliance to all Safety, Health & Environment related policies, procedures and government regulations
  • Manage plant labour models to ensure the Plant Training Program is maintained and the necessary skill mix is always available to manage leave, extended operating hours and succession
  • Coordinate Maintenance and Engineering work in the plant to support the Plant's reliability and CAPEX programs
  • Manage plant costs to optimize site unit conversion outcomes
  • Lead Continuous Improvement within the plant to achieve required manufacturing standards, using tools such as Lean, 5S, MOC etc
  • Deliver production plans, develop capacity and resource plans to ensure flexibility and ability to meet short term challenges
  • Work collaboratively with the business technical units, marketing and sales to support new business opportunities
  • Support the Plant achieve the requirements of company policies by providing effective leadership and performance management

Required skills and experience:


  • Experience with managing operational teams
  • Must have a vested interest for chemical processes
  • A demonstrated record of excellent people management, change management, strategic thinking, planning and organizing, decision making, risk taking, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills
  • Innovative mindset

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree Chemical Engineering or other technical field
