About the Unit


Academic Excellence is a unit within the Vice-Chancellors' Division responsible for providing strategic insight drawn from qualitative and quantitative methods, and for recommending actions to optimise the University's performance on rankings, government initiatives and strategic priorities.

It engages across all portfolios of the University in order to analyse and integrate academic information and adjust levers to drive enhanced unit and individual level academic performance in line with the University's strategic plan and ambitions.


What we offer
The remuneration for this position is from $102,667 - $119,778 p.a. +17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  • Postgraduate qualification or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated management expertise and proven track record in program/project management, including the ability to develop feasible solutions and procedures, coordinate and manage the delivery of multiple concurrent complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • Proven strong conceptual and analytical abilities to examine complex issues and problems, analyse and interpret large volumes of data, relate these to contemporary higher education trends, and develop solutions that input into strategy, policy
- and decision-making and their implementation.

  • Ability to establish and develop positive working relationships that are built on trust and integrity in a consultative and collaborative manner to achieve agreed organisational outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to select and convey appropriate levels of information in an engaging manner to different audiences and audience groups in a range of formats.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workplace obligations to, and experience in leading and cultivating workplace practices and behaviours that promote, support and maintain a safe, healthy, equitable, diverse and respectful workplace; including responding appropriately to adverse accidents, incidents, behaviours, issues, reports and the like.
