Federal Government Agency to engage an APS5 Compliance Officer.
***This position has locations across Australia (preferred Canberra) for an initial

contract until 30 June 2024.

Duties

  • Respond to public and industry enquiries about obligations under the Recycling and Waste Reduction Act 2020 (the Act).
  • Gather and assess information to identify non compliance with the Act, and make recommendations to senior staff, based on findings.
  • Undertake compliance activities including compliance audits, site visits, assessments, education.
  • Draft reports on applicants' fitness and propriety to hold a waste export licence/exemption.
  • Draft written communication, including assessments, decision records, minutes, education material and reports.
  • Manage a case load both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Supervise a small team who undertake compliance work, as required.
  • Other duties, as allocated.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Dedication to objectivity
  • Desired, formal qualifications in administering regulation.
