About the opportunity.

We currently have a maternity cover position available for a qualified Audiologist.

This is a 12 Month Contract role until April 2025 and we are open to considering applicants for both full-time or part-time opportunites.


Our Cochlear Care Centres are a network of clinics (3 in total), located in Geelong, East Melbourne and Dandenong which provide critical services and access to high quality rehabilitation audiological care for recipients with a Cochlear Implantable Hearing Solution.

The primary locations for this role will be East Melbourne and Dandenong.
- and post-operative phases of care, and delivery of the audiologist services required to deliver outcomes in line with the Care Centres' strategic plan.

Whilst no 2 days are the same, here are some of the things you will be responsible for:

Clinical Care- Assessing and advising patients regarding available technology and services to improve their hearing and communication abilities.- Administer assessments and interpret results for hearing impaired patients and their families.- Provide audiological habilitation to recipients by fitting appropriate technology to support access to sound (primarily for cochlear implant recipients).- Provide evidence based clinical decisions as part of a patient-centric clinical team.- Participate in peer review of clinical practices and interpretation of test results.- Deliver clinical care consistent with departmental policies and protocols.


Clinical Education- Prepare and give presentations to stakeholder groups including professionals, students, recipients and their families.- Participate in any department-based peer learning and supervision as directed (both as provider and recipient).

Clinical Support and Administration- Ensure clinical services and department standards are maintained at a high standard.- Completion of clinical and other reports, as directed

You Bring Your Skills and Experience

To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Minimum:

  • Masters' Degree in Clinical Audiology or equivalent
  • Eligible for membership of the Audiological Society of Australia with Certificate of Clinical Practice (CCP)
  • Demonstrated relevant knowledge of recent clinical practice in audiology
  • Experience in the management of a clinical caseload
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills & proactive approach to achieving mutually acceptable outcomes
  • Experience in and commitment to working with hearing impaired and Deaf adults and children
  • Competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software in a Windows environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and reflective practice
