About the opportunity
The role of the Finance Officer is a hybrid role across the finance division. This is a
graduate position that will provide support to the entire finance team. The duties will vary substantially; however, this position will primarily sit within the accounts receivable and funding team.

During periods of staff leave the Finance Officer will also have the opportunity to

upskill across other areas of the finance team and support and assist to ensure a high quality of service is maintained and tasks are completed in line with key deadlines.

Reporting to the Funding Manager, this position will assist in quote preparation,
accounts receivable receipting and processing, billing, responding to queries,
payments, deductions, reporting, reconciliations, debtors, funding and
administrative tasks.

A day in the life as a Graduate Finance Officer with CareChoice, some of your key tasks include:

  • Ensuring that the clients signed service agreements, funding information
in CMS and funded amounts match quotes.

  • Tracking funding to ensure that services delivered align with the funding
allocated to clients.

  • Raising issues with client funding promptly to the business.
  • Liaising directly with clients, NDIA, Plan Managers etc. to ensure that
payments will be received for services provided.

  • Submitting payment claims to the NDIS portal, plan manager portal or
relevant funding body and reporting results.

  • Receipting payments and following up outstanding invoices for payment.
  • Assisting with month end finance tasks.
  • Supporting the implementation of new systems and projects as required.
  • Ensuring that processes are the most efficient. Process improvement
where required.

  • Providing support to finance staff as required, including back up for
finance staff when on leave.

  • Answering queries in a professional manner and supplying information as
requested.

You must be open to learning new skills and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced customer service environment including the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

The desire to perform the role with the highest level of professionalism and integrity; with the view of always representing the organisation in a positive and professional manner will be essential.


Ideally, you'll have:

  • Diploma, Bachelor/ Degree or other in a finance field.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • PC Literacy, especially in Excel.
