Description
We have an opportunity for a Development Professional to join our Communities Development team based in Melbourne.


As part of the development team, you will support the team that are responsible for ensuring projects are scoped, designed and delivered in accordance with the Stockland framework, the agreed vision and profitability levels.


Reporting to the Project Director and Senior Development Manager, you will support improved profit centre performance by delivering projects within cash flow and profit return benchmarks for our award-winning projects.


The Opportunity


In this role you will deliver on the Business Unit's Financial Plan and a community proposition that drives higher customer referrals.


Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Profit Centre Manager to ensure the Project is scoped, designed and delivered in accordance with the business strategy, agreed vision and target profitability levels
  • Support project delivery to ensure schedule, revenue and cost objectives are met;
  • Assist with driving the sales and marketing activities to achieve the business plan objectives;
  • Assist with the management of design development and review against relevant design standards;
  • Assist with engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including authorities;
  • Assist with control and monitoring of development budgets and financial reporting;
  • Assist with monitoring progress on site, participate in site meetings and monitor actions out of these meetings;
  • Assist with procurement and payment of consultants, contractors and suppliers;
  • Assist with monitoring market and competitor activity to maintain competitiveness.

About You
We are looking for a self-starter with a passion for development and a hunger for projects, variety and commerciality. Ideally you will have some direct development experience and be able to show commercial acumen.


In addition you will have:

  • Degree qualified in a related discipline with prior relevant experience in the development industry
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Ability to take initiative and be a selfstarter is a must
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving customer focused outcomes.
  • Basic knowledge of procurement processes
  • Ability to ask the right questions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Developed stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Resilience and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Creative and design flare
  • Importantly you have a passion for what you do, are inquisitive and strive for excellence in all you do
