About the role


Specifically you will:


  • Setup, operate and maintain effective AMS groundtoair voice communications systems in support of all SAA daily flying operations
  • Perform scheduling and building of PEX missions and sorties as necessary IAW extant publications and BPT assist in the auditing of resultant sortie post flight data
  • Perform flying program amendments/changes in PEX (inc Flt Pro Database)
  • Perform daily operational administrative tasking, as directed or as necessary;
  • Load Cryptographic material and GPS updates into Army aircraft utilising appropriate Data Loading Devices
  • Prepare and upload EW Data to relevant SAA aircraft
  • Load IFF KEYMAT to relevant SAA aircraft
  • Assist with the managing of all mission settings within JMPS to meet SAA standards
  • Create and upload JMPS mission loads to relevant SAA aircraft
  • Provide JMPS software technical guidance at the user level
  • Prepare and upload base map data to relevant SAA aircraft
  • Perform uploading, downloading and storage of mission flight and maintenance data in support of the AMS support capability
  • Conduct liaison with relevant support agencies as necessary, in support of maintaining control over all flying operations
  • BPT conduct CP Operator support duties as directed and as necessary during any SAA Aircraft Emergency or Incident
  • Maintain mission support deployable vehicle as required
  • Perform duties as a CP Operator in the field.
About you

To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to drive project outcomes, work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.

The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role include:


  • Two years' experience within Australian Army Aviation Corps, Royal Australian Corps of Signals, or similar Australian Defence Force (ADF) military FMS
  • Possess knowledge and experience in defence related communication and IT equipment
  • Familiar with the operational and technical aspects of working within an operations room, including the use of IT and communication systems to support mission planning and execution
  • Comfortable in adapting quickly to learning a variety of new software programs and tools
  • Have strong problem solving skills and be able to troubleshoot software user issues to find solutions
  • Currently hold a valid NV security clearance or be eligible to obtain one
  • Capability in complying with a full suite of operational documents as per regulations
  • Work effectively within a small team environment, communicate clearly and concisely, and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities as needed to support the teams goals
  • Currently hold, or be able to attain the following ADF qualifications (desirable but not essential):
  • P104170 Avn GCMS Comd Post Optr ARH 20291
  • P108211 Avn GCMS Comd Post Optr MRH
