Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team.
The Mechanical Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery and equipment, contributing to commitment to excellence and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic assessments to identify and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
- Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty components, including gears, bearings, shafts, and valves.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities according to established schedules to prevent breakdowns and prolong equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production staff to optimize machine operation and productivity.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in mechanical maintenance to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or relevant certification.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required.
