THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced
Quality Assurance Coordinator - Laboratory & Technical, on a full time, permanent basis at our Parramatta Creek Processing and Smokehouse facility which is located 20 minutes from Devonport and processes all of the Salmon and Ocean Trout that we farm in Tasmania.

From here, product is distributed across Tasmania, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

As a member of our Quality Assurance team and reporting to the National Quality Assurance Manager, the
Quality Assurance Coordinator (Laboratory & Technical) provides daily assistance in the running of the quality assurance departments through the timely coordination of the testing, monitoring and verification programs and associated activities as they relate to the overall Quality Management System.

At the same time, the QA Coordinator Laboratory and Technical will provide appropriate training, guidance and direction to production with quality and food safety related issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Conduct testing according to the related testing Standard Operating Procedures.
Coordinate/conduct retention samples collection, sensory evaluation and recording and entry of data with anomalies reported to the QA Manager

Provide Certificates of Analysis to other parties as approved by the National QA Managers.
Coordinate/conduct continuous improvement projects around hygiene and general product safety improvement etc.

ABOUT YOU

Your experience:

Experience in the coordination and administration of a product and testing analysis program for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
Experience in the food manufacturing industry and a Food Safety and Quality program.

Your capabilities:

Highly organised with a strong focus on attention to details and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
Ability and enthusiasm to develop the role to enhance the overall Quality and Food Safety culture across Huon's processing sites
Ability to establish microbiological risks and then clearly communicate this risks to all levels of the food production team.
Possess a strong focus on food and safety and the ability to determine the nature and extent of potential food safety issues to form the basis for the development and deployment of appropriate risk management solutions.

Your technical skills and qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in Microbiology, Food Technology or related food science degree.
