The role


Your role will be primarily focused on leading and managing a diverse team of investigators who are responsible for conducting complex, sensitive, and protracted fraud, financial crime, and serious misconduct investigations.

Our investigations are in accordance with agreed scope and for developing insight into control strategies and identified vulnerabilities.


Your opportunity

  • Proven natural leadership skills that will support your team through overseeing and prioritising investigations while managing multiple and competing team and business expectations.
  • Managing operational outcomes via your investigation's experience.
  • Influence strategic change through the identification of failings within systems, process, and people across all divisions across the Group.
  • Ability to influence business outcomes based on established operational risk and compliance.
  • The ability to identify and contribute to strategic issues which are deemed important to the future direction of Group Investigations.

The role and Day to day will include

  • Applies detailed knowledge and understanding of the investigation doctrine to undertake investigations in an objective and fair manner in accordance with Fair Work principles
  • Be responsible for and manage a team of investigators who:
  • Collect and analyse information with the objective of documenting facts and findings upon which stakeholders can make sound decisions on consequence management or reporting to regulatory and law enforcement agencies
  • Record and report on observations in relation to possible control and/or process gaps, vulnerabilities or failures identified during the investigation, that may have contributed to the outcomes
  • Engages stakeholders to implement & improve business activities through use/integration of the risk & compliance framework

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and/or prior experience in the financial sector or fraud investigations.
  • Comprehensive investigation and investigation management experience.
  • AML/CTF/ Fraud experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with investigative interviewing (PEACE model) and proven ability to act as an interview coordinator in complex and protracted investigations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, including law enforcement/investigations.
  • Excellent communication skills allowing you to successfully influence key relationships within this role.
  • Selfmotivation and drive to develop both yourself and your direct reports personally and professionally.
  • Demonstrate a high ability to understand governance, policy and legislative frameworks pertinent to any fraud and serious misconduct investigations.
