Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Fraud Intelligence Analyst.

Contract Length: 12 months


Pay rate:
$60.26/Hourly (excluding super)

Eligibility/Security Requirement**: The successful applicant will either hold or have the ability to hold an AGSVA security clearance at the NV1 level.


About the Team
The Fraud Intelligence and Investigations Branch detects and responds to internal and external payment fraud against the Scheme.

The branch focus is on protecting the Scheme's financial sustainability, strengthening fraud control arrangements and supporting the Fraud Fusion Taskforce to strengthen the Commonwealth's fraud detection and response capability.


About the Role


The APS6 Fraud Intelligence Analyst (Labour Hire) is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.

The APS6 Fraud Intelligence Analyst (Labour Hire) is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.

Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agency's objectives.


Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Utilising a Certificate IV in Government (Investigation), or its equivalent, as set out in Public Services Training Package (PSP04) to support the planning and production of financial intelligence outputs and outcomes.
  • Conducting fraud assessments and producing financial intelligence reports for complex matters from the collection, evaluation and analysis of information.
  • Leading tactical intelligence projects through the development of collection plans, assigning tasks, analysing financial and other information, and articulating findings.
  • Complying with all relevant legislation, Agency's policy and guidelines for the management of information and the use of ICT systems and tools.
  • Contributing to the development of business rules, refinements and suggested avenues of analysis and investigation.
  • Producing financial intelligence products within set timeframes in compliance with legislative, policy and information security frameworks.
  • Maintaining accurate files and records in relation to business decisions and intelligence activities and functions, contributing to reporting requirements.
  • Providing ongoing intelligence support for matters referred for investigation.

Key skills required for role:


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in utilising Excel, interrogating data

Desirable skills to have for the role:

  • Previous experience in an intelligence role
