    Job Description

    We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Laboratory Assistants to join our Alexandria, NSW team on a casual basis . In this role, you will play a crucial part in our sample preparation section, where you will prepare and analyse soil, water, and air samples. #NSWJobsConnect

    Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct routine sample preparations for soil, water, and air analyses, including the handling of acids, solvents, and other reagents.
  • Ensure timely completion of work, adhering to due dates.
  • Comply with analytical methods and maintain quality management systems.
  • Prepare standards and reagents.
  • Perform sample analysis and accurately record data and results.
  • Assist chemists and supervisors with various tasks, such as instrument loading and waste disposal.
  • Adhere to all SGS QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) and HR policies and procedures.

    • Qualifications

  • Certificate IV (TAFE) or equivalent qualification.
  • One to two years of laboratory experience or a similar background.
  • Strong methodical approach and enjoys routine work.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Team-oriented with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Possession of a current driver's license.
